![]() Just imagine the russians trying to impose communism in the states. How can you say that with any certainty? Did the average Vietnamese peasant really desire a communist state in a unified Vietnam? I think they were more concerned with feeding their families. Remember that communism is what people wanted. Even if we had taken the north as soon as we left the communists would have taken over The very nature of the war meant it was in-winable. If we never left we would still be fighting.
